Hansa Brandenburg KD I Series 28

Designed in spring 1916 by the Hansa Brandenburg Flugzeugwerke , this type was ordered for the Austro Hungarian airforce and was the first true fighter plane in service with the LFT.
The unofficial name Starstrutter is stemming from the unusual layout of the wing struts.
Its frontline service was comperativly short, partly due to the flight characteristics of the plane, lack of reliable armament, improper pilot training and availability of superior types but remained in service with flight training units until the end of the war.
Only around 120 examples were built.
